From the very early days of desktop publishing our
investment in a multi-disk reader capable of reading a variety of computer
media, from 8 inch(!) disks, to dat tapes has meant that we adopted the
viewpoint that we would try to support as many hardware platforms as possible.
We have, for example, always supported both PCs and Macintoshes and have never
chosen to be involved in the Mac versus PC debates. Unlike many printers (the
majority of whom are still Macintosh based) we have taken the view that it is
not for the Russell Press to dictate the choice of Hardware platform that our
customers must use.
Again, as with hardware, we try to support as many of the popular Desktop
Publishing programs as we can. In cases where we do not have the software
application, there are usually many other ways that we can process your jobs.
Our preferred format format is for Press Ready PDF files, however, we do support
the following applications directly:
Quark Xpress 3.3 through to 6.5 (Mac/PC)
Pagemaker 6 & 6.5 (Mac/PC)

Coreldraw 6 & 9 (PC)
Microsoft Publisher (PC)

jobs in this format, it may simply mean that we have to do it another way.
